Food Box Delivery

Food Box Delivery
November 20th the CHS Jrotc leadership team, student senate, wellness Team, and football team will be unloading a semi truck with 30,000 pounds of food. We will have approximately 165 families signed up with household members with a total of 750 people.
Between the hours of 2:30pm and 3:30pm we will unload the truck and assemble a grocery store in the older part of the cafeteria.  We will then shop/pack boxes for the families and use garden carts from Mt. Garfield Nursery to move the heavy boxes to the newer side of the cafeteria.  Beginning around 3:30pm, the newer side of the cafeteria will be our warehouse until families pull up to the cafeteria curbside and wait for the delivery of a wonderful box of food. This part begins at 4pm and goes on until 6pm.  With the amount of food and packaging, there is always some cleanup to get the cafeteria ready for breakfast the next day.
Here is how you can help... bring heavy duty boxes already assembled, plastic/paper grocery bags or if you are interested in helping during the time frame of 2:30pm to 6:30pm, please contact Flynn Kimberley (kimberley.flynn@d51schools.org).
We know we have lots going on during this evening of the 20th, so if another month  works better for you, the invite will be standing for you to join us! Please continue to reach out to kids/families to continue the growth of this opportunity.
A  blessing to our Warrior community and could not be possible without the tremendous support of the Food Bank of the Rockies.
