Summer Service Opportunities ~ Conservation Crews! Join the Student Conservation Assocation in Colorado. In partnership with Shell and Dinosaur National Park is offering a special opportunity for Colorado high school students to take part in a unique 3-4 week summer conservation work experience. Doing trailwork, habitat restoration, or other projects to help preserve our nation's national parks. for more information and to apply online, click here. Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA)! This is a year-long program that teaches middle and high school students how to start and run their own REAL businesses. YEA! was developed at the University of Rochester and the Grand Junction Area Chamber is excited to be introducing this program to Grand Junction and Mesa County. YEA! guides high school students through the process of starting and running a legitimate business or social movement over the course of a full academic year. YEA! has graduated almost 600 students over the past 7 years, who have started almost 450 businesses and social movements! Space is limisted to 24 spaces. SAFE KIDS AMERICA Alcohol & The Affects on the Teen Brain Class Sponsored by Mesa County Sheriff's Office & Crime Stoppers, of Mesa County The much anticipated Alcohol and the Teen Brain class has been scheduled for May 28th, 6:30 p.m., at the Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel. This class is a 90 minute class and will include a series wrap-up that ties all of the classes together, click the attached link and RSVP today, www.safekidsamerica.org. And, yes ... the application for the summer workshops for teens will be on hand! We can accept only 12 teens. STEM Program Here at CHS Recent reports have shown that students are shying away from careers in math and science, but that's not the case at Central High School. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. This program is the only one offered on the Western Slope. Click here for more information.

School Advisory Committee Our School Advisory or Accountability Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month, in the library. Call the office, at 254-6200, for more information. Keep up-to-date on important happenings in the Counseling Office with updates on College Financial Aid, Scholarships, and opportunities! Parent Bridge is the ultimate way to check your student's grades, attendance, lunch account, testing history, and e-mail your child's teachers-the list goes on and on! If you don't yet have a Parent Bridge account, print the attached form, fill it out, and drop it off at the attendance office.
